Description: Ripe Utah Juniper Berries - Wildcrafted from Western Colorado Quality and transparency in handling and origin is our promise to you! Utah Juniper (Juniperus Osteosperma) is native to the arid American west. The berries (actually cones) develop and ripen over 2 years. Regarding the natural color variation, the ripe berries typically have a blue/gray "bloom" that can be rubbed off. When the bloom is rubbed off the cones are a dark red or brown color. The photo shows 2 oz. and 6 oz. examples. General: "Wildcrafted" means the herbs are ethically harvested from surrounding deserts and mountains to create tinctures, extracts, and essential oils. Extraction and distillation is performed onsite in a commercial kitchen. Much of the produce and herbs used are grown with regenerative methods (beyond organic) and with an emphasis on building healthy soils. Biologically depleted soils yield inferior produce. Healthy soil = healthy plants and healthy people. I am a soil scientist by profession and therefore I understand the principles and practices surrounding healthy soil ecology and I focus specifically on building soil biology and soil organic matter to yield the highest quality product. I use no synthetic salt fertilizers or pesticides. I do not offer laboratory analysis or assays on tinctures or essential oils at this time but the method (amounts, ratios, etc) will be described for the individual product.
