Description: The Poetical Works of Robert Burns listed on the cover page as A New Edition. Inside the book it's said to have been printed sometime after May 7, 1856 by George Routledge and Sons, illustrated by Sir John Gilbert. Though that was only the date of the preface, I don't see any other date listed in the book. As you can see from the first picture in the listing this book's front and back covers have fallen off, but in the second you'll see that they can rest together looking rather nice. The first couple cover pages and a couple other pages in the book have come loose as well. The remaining bulk of the book is still bound together and while the outer cover of the spine has worn away a bit the actual structure of the spine is in tact. There's some pencil markings, pictured, from one of the previous owners with his name and such on at least one page maybe two of them.
