Full title: THE POETICAL WORKS OF ROBERT BURNS: WITH ALL THE CORRESPONDENCE AND NOTES BY ALLAN CUNNINGHAM VG - red cloth with embossed gilt pictorial board surrounded with a black floral pattern. Gilt lettering on spine and front boards. All gilt edges. Rubbed spine, edges, and corners. Name inscription on FFEP, and what appears to be initials on the front past down. Certain poems in the "contents" pages have been checked marked. These correspond with poems which have been lightly annotated, no apparent marginal notes. See photos for examples. Occasional dog eared pages. Type has left a mirrored impression on the back of engravings. P. 319 has a missing corner which slightly affects the numbering of the page but not the text.
