Lightly faded on the cover at top right corner. Black imprinting on front cover and spine is in good condition. Outer page edges are worn with some age spots. Inside foxing. Some ink writing on the inside front cover. A scuff on the inside front end page and following page. Age spots on the title page. Frontispiece page is loose at the bottom spine. No other inside markings. Pages are generally clean but yellowed. DJ: Covered with clear, protective plastic. The original DJ underneath has considerable wear around the corners, edges and spine with large chips and tears. The white parts of the DJ are yellowed. Looks like a watermark on top of DJ front flap, spine and front cover.5.25" x 7.5". 322 numbered pages with a B&W frontispiece and four interior sepia plates by J. Allen St. John. The map drawn by Burroughs is included. This was the 17th hardback published by Burroughs. This is the second in his series about the fictional "Hollow Earth" land of Pellucidar.
