ITEM: Original WWI Printed Photo Postcard of GERMAN RESERVE DIVISION 45 TRENCH IN ACTION, YPRES, BELGIUM 1915. Mailed from GERMAN SOLDIER of 45th DIVISION to EMILY BODE in Frankfurt, 1915 5th BATTERY, FIELD ARTILLERY REGIMENT 219 POSITION near RIGA, LATVIA, 1917. Note the RIFLE, GAS MASK CAN, WICKER BASKETS FOR ARTILLERY SHELLS, and ENTRANCE TO DUGOUT. This is one of several postcards I am listing that were written by various German soldiers from both the Eastern and Western Fronts and mailed to a Fraulein Emily Bode in Frankfurt am Main, Germany during World War I. Most were from a German of the 5th Battery, Field Artillery Regiment 219 on the Eastern Front during World War I. He at least passed through Warsaw, Poland and was at one point near Riga, Latvia. However, Emily Bode had many friends and/or relatives write to her during the war. See my other WWI postcards from this group. SORRY.
