Description: IC-746, IC-746PRO, IC-756, IC756PRO-I , IC-756PRO-II, IC-7400 driver amplifier repair kit. This kit provides the uPC1678G driver amplifier MMIC and the associated PIN protection diodes. This device is in a SOP-G08 package, no other package type ! ++++ Note: This is not suitable for the IC-756PRO-III model which uses a similar device the uPC1678GV-E2, this is in a much smaller later generation SSOP-S08 package. The suffix -E1 or -E2 of the uPC1678G part number simply refers to the orientation of the device on auto-placement feed reels. -E1 or-E2 are electrically identical devices, our reels are -E2. This kit provides a total of 6 parts: 1 x uPC1678G-E2 Power Amplifier MMIC [SOP G08 package] (IC151/IC801) 1 x 1SV263 PIN Diode (D151) 4 x MA77TX PIN Diode (D151*,D161,D162,D163) Note: The circuitry on each of the models is similar, for the IC-746/IC-7400 series, you are looking for IC151/D151 on the RF PCB. Early IC-746 models only had D151 fitted (S/N <~3500). Later models and the IC-7400 have D161, D162, D163 added. Some IC-746 starting around around S/N 3600-3750 have the MA77TX fitted for D151 rather than the usual 1SV263 device. On the original IC-756 the MMIC is part IC801, on the IC-756PRO/I/II (not PROIII) the MMIC is part IC151 on the RF PCB. There are other intermediate PCB solutions depending on S/N with the MA77TX diodes added around IC801. Refer to the actual schematic. You will need the service manual specific to the model that you have to locate the parts on the RF PCB. There are different issues of the PCB (LOT numbers) so make sure the PCB layout diagram matches the PCB identity code on the board itself (this identity code is metallised on the PCB itself and will match that shown in the PCB drawings, top left of diagrams.) If you remove the PCB, make sure the screws are tight on re-assembly. Later models have star washers added. Poor ground contacts here can often result in instability issues.
