It was first made in 1810 in FranceBy opaline glass we mean a milky glass, which can be white or colored, and is made translucent or opaque by adding particular phosphates or oxides during the mixing. It can also have iris reflexes. This gorgeous Opaline vase is obviously a green milky color hand painted with a mixture of purple flowers and green leaves and stems. They go the entire way around the vase. Just gorgeous!! Vase measures approx. 9 1/4" tall x 6" wide at it's widest x 2 3/4" at the base. It is hand signed by the artist and has the original price tag on the bottom.
