Description: This is a British teapot that can be used to make tea or can just sit on the shelf and be admired. It is 8.5 inches long and 6.5 inches tall. There are various marks on the bottom but nothing to say who made it. I would guess it was made before WWII. The bold Imari pattern is in bright cobalt blue, iron red and gilding, and the teapot is fully covered with flowers, leaves and branches. The only condition issue is that the handle has been off and permanently reattached with epoxy, with the joins repainted so they don’t show. I tugged as hard as I could and it’s well-repaired. There’s also some crazing to the clear glaze at the bottom from normal use. Otherwise in excellent shape with no chips and completely usable. Let me know if you have any questions. Ref T585.
