The Royal Canadian Mint (RCM) launched the Silver Maple Leaf series in 1988, featuring the nationally themed imagery designed for the Gold Maple Leaf series in 1979. The 2024 release represents the introduction of the newly designed Canadian coin effigy of His Majesty King Charles III to the series. This 2024 Maple Leaf coin contains one Troy ounce of 99.99% fine silver. The coin is the first in the series to feature the effigy of King Charles III. The coin is minted with a gorgeous brilliant uncirculated (BU) finish. The 37.97 mm diameter coin is issued as Canadian legal tender, with a five-dollar denomination.
