Very large, measures approx. 8’ x 4.5’ excluding the fringe and flagpole loops. In double-layer heavy synthetic silk. The graphics and lettering are identical on both sides, machine-embroidered using glossy white and golden silk thread. The emblem of the German Gymnastics and Sports Federation (Deutscher Turn- und Sportbund, or DTSB) is of complex design. The letters OTSB are individual cutouts stitched onto the background piece. The cobalt-blue background is a separate piece of silk stitched onto the red silk of the banner. The lettering above the Dynamo logo reads “Sports Club Dynamo”. The inscription under the logo reads “Sports Society “Helmut Just” Erfurt”. In EXCELLENT CONDITION. The red silk is free of damage or wear, all the graphics, lettering and fringe are intact and have retained their full original luster. All 7 flagpole loops are damage- and wear-free. The East German Dynamo sports club was funded by, and purposed for, their State Security, commonly known as Stasi, and Volkspolizei, the state police. In this, DDR parroted the structure of the Soviet sports club Dynamo. Dynamo Erfurt became defunct after reunification. It existed from 1966 until 1989.
