The flush metal (brass plated iron) toe taps will exceedingly extend the life of your leather soles and be silent when in use if installed correctly. These are the same high-quality toe taps used by many renowned bespoke shoemakers from around the world. From the UK's John Lobb to Japan's Yohei Fukuda and more. These are not your average toe taps found on eBay which are simply nailed on top of the existing sole and can be noisy when walking. These metal toe taps are meant to be professionally installed. The cobbler or shoemaker should install these flush with the leather soles as the sample photos show. This is done by skiving down the sole so this metal toe tap can sit sunken in and flush with the bottom of the sole as well as with the sole edge. The general dimensions and specifications are: 55mm wide by 25mm tall, 1.65mm thick Material: Brass Plated Iron Sold in pairs!! One size fits most. Also, note that these toe taps are slightly curved (to match most shoe toe shapes), they are NOT completely flat and not recommended for use as heel taps. Keep in mind filing down of the toe tap may be required to get desired perfect fit; especially for square toes, which is standard practice.
