Description: this is an unusually lengthy antique oil painting depicting a moonlight sail along the Maine coastline done by a very talented but unknown artist - the painting was done from the perspective of the artist viewing the scene from the shoreline of the ocean looking out at the sailboat cruising along a relatively calm sea - in the very forefront of the painting, we see a crashing surf at the shoreline which is filled with rocks & boulders (especially on the right side of the painting) - the artist also created a lovely moonlight reflection on the waves further out in the painting all of which makes nice depth in the painting - the painting measures a lengthy 24 inches & is 10 inches high sight size - it is in very good antique condition, & is framed with its original gilded gesso on board frame which measures 14" x 28", & is also in very good antique condition - I took the photos in different lighting conditions, & would suggest that the buyer of this painting exhibit the painting with plenty of light for best effect -
