In the four corners there are star like vignettes filled with assorted Gods and Goddesses, Satyrs and children.The Reticella work is very fine and the overall design is quite lovely.The hand made Filet lace edging has assorted birds and animals in the design. A common theme that Italians used in their designs at the time were all mainly about the Primavera and Harvest time and of course Love… So there are always cherubs shooting arrows, Gods, Satyrs, Goddesses , the joys of Spring and the culmination of the bounty produced at Harvest time.Besides the large starlike vignettes there are smaller triangular shaped vignettes with children worked in Needlelace. Measuring approx. almost 40”. In mainly very good strong condition, there are two openings on the top and bottom edge of one of the triangular vignettes and one other at the top edge of the larger central vignette and a couple of very tiny ones near the vignette.Two openings in Filet lace and couple of dot spots. I consider these quite minor as someone who knows how to repair, this would certainly be worthwhile.One could use as a cloth or even use on the front of a continental sham..It is where the linen meets the Needlelace that needs the repairs.My thoughts are that a good embroiderer could repair and they would certaily blend in.So for the U.S only I will take a return as I think a buyer can view and see of they agree with my opinion.This item looked as if it was rarely used or perhaps even unused.The item seems as if it was laundered.One of course one could also make cushions..but this is a cloth that would be nice..if it is kept intact.
