CONDITION: We are pleased to offer for sale a hard to find complete Akro Agate Lemonade and Oxblood Octagonalchild's tea set. This set in the box is very desirable. This set consists of 4 dinner plates, 4 cups and saucers, a teapot, and a sugar and. creamer. The glass pieces in the set are in UNDAMAGED CONDITION WITHOUT CHIPS, CRACKS, OR MOLD IMPERFECTIONS. The condition and color of the pieces is exceptional. We have taken a picture of each piece so you can see the beautiful coloring for yourself. All of the pieces with the exception of the lid are marked with the Akro backstamp on their bottoms. This set even has an original box that is in relatively good condition in spite of its 80+ year age. The box lid has some discoloration and fading on the top due to age and what looks like water damage. It bleeds through to the inside as shown. The lettering on the lid is visible and the picture of the children is good (Please see the photo of both the bottom and the top of the box lid). The letters on the side of the box that identify it are no longer readable, but the rest of the lettering is good.. The edges are slightly tattered but the lid fits the bottom nicely. The bottom is in surprisingly good condition. The slots that hold the pieces are in good shape without rips and tears. Our pictures are very good and show you exactly what to expect when you receive the set. If you are an avid Akro Agate collector and boxed sets are your jam, you will not want to pass up the opportunity to own this lovely piece of history. Octagonal (1940) - (Opaque White, Opaque Cream, Opaque Mustard, Opaque Pink, Opaque Turquoise, Opaque Blues, Opaque Pumpkin, Opaque Yellow, Opaque Green, Opaque Cobalt, Lemonade and Oxblood) One of the most common sets of Akro Agate found today is the opaque green and white Octagonal large set. Multicolored sets are not as easy to find, they can be found with diligent searching. Pumpkin cups are desirable in both small and large sizes. Large-size sets include lids on the sugar bowls and a flat soup that the small-size set does not have. Pitchers and tumblers were sold separately in boxed sets, but were sometimes included in the small-size Octagonal boxed sets. The most sought after Octagonal set is the Lemonade and Oxblood color. It is difficult to find and the color fascinates collectors.
