Description: This is a 2-wire aka 2-pin solenoid for the hydraulic cooling fan for a 2001-2004 Grand Cherokee with the V8 4.7L engine. It has been FULLY TESTED and is in good working condition. I believe the part number is 05102210AA, but you'll want to verify that with your dealer if it's important to you. I am the ORIGINAL blue smiley face seller. I test my solenoids by installing them in a test rig I've built. My process tests both the electrical and hydraulic/mechanical parts of the solenoid. You can be assured of getting a good working part from me. This solenoid is the older version with 2 pins. (The newer ones have a 3-pin connection.) Your Jeep must have the same 2-pin connector or else this won't work on your vehicle. You must verify your connector configuration prior to purchasing this item. (Pro tip: the harness has 3 wires in it, but one wire sneaks off to a ground connection very close to the connector for the solenoid...get out your glasses and a good light for this verification task!) Not even the dealer can tell you if you have the 2-pin or 3-pin solenoid using the VIN because many of the 2-pin fan assemblies have been updated to the newer 3-pin unit....at a cost of well over $1000 usually. And I've seen both 2-pin & 3-pin connectors on 2004 models...seems like they updated the fan assembly mid-year in 2004. Removal and installation of the solenoid requires a #40 Torx bit. (The 3-pin version uses a thin 23mm open-end wrench instead.) My solenoids do have some surface corrosion, scratches, dirt, oil, and other normal wear and tear on them. The photos are 'stock' photos. The item you receive will be in the same general good condition as the one shown in the photos. Don't buy a severely corroded part from the east coast or the rust belt. From what I can tell, these fail because the road salt gets into the winding of the solenoid and corrodes everything. My parts are from sunny Colorado where our roads rarely ever get doused with salt....just some food for thought. 6-month replacement warranty, labor not included. Please ask if you need more photos or more info to ensure you're getting the part you need. Please be aware that while I guarantee this part, I can NOT guarantee that it will fix your problem. Why not? Because there are a number of other related parts that can cause the hydraulic fan not to turn, such as a bad computer (PCM), faulty wiring harness, dirty electrical connectors, faulty temp sensor, fuses, etc. Please do a thorough job of researching how this electromechanical system works and of troubleshooting your problem before purchasing this item. In particular, you should check fuse #16 in the box next to the battery. Both the O2 sensors and the fan solenoid are powered through that fuse. If the fuse is blown then the real problem is 99% melted or chafed O2 sensor wiring under the vehicle. International buyers please contact me for shipping costs. I would consider shipping to established buyers on a case by case basis.
