Description: 1932 2 cent George Washington Bicentennial Issue.Issued January 1, 1932Printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing using Rotary Press. Color is Carmine rose. This image of George Washington is from an unfinished painting, (The Athenaeum) by Gilbert Stuart, a master portrait artist, in 1796. This and 11 other stamps were issued honoring the 200th anniversary of George Washingtons birth. This stamp was on an envelope received by my grandmother in the 1930's. She gave it to my mother, who loved stamps. My mother did not professionally collect stamps. She saved various stamps throughout her life, saving and storing them in boxes in her home. She passed away and now I am offering her stamps to others who love them as she did.
